IDRO, the Ridracoli Water Ecomuseum: Idro and the Dam
The Ridracoli Dam is located in the heart of the Foreste Casentinesi Monte Falterona e Campigna National Park. It is an engineering work, in harmony with the environment, which contributes to the water needs of the Romagna territory. The dam is in Romagna territory, but is easily reached, especially from the upper Casentino. A day in Ridracoli offers many possibilities to stay outdoors, surrounded by water and the most colourful forests in Europe. You can take a walk on the top of the dam or in the woods, go for an easy trek up to the Cà di Sopra refuge along the paths of the National Park, or have a picnic by the lake. Don’t miss the experience of an excursion by electric boat on the lake, or a guided canoe trip, as well as a visit to the Idro Ecomuseum.
