The Lama Forest

Surrounded by impervious mountains, the Lama forest is the most natural and intact portion of the Casentino Forests. These places are unique in their kind, as nature here grows luxuriant and uncontaminated. Entering the deepest forest, you will find the Sasso Fratino Integral Reserve, the first integral reserve in Italy, declared a World Heritage Site. Here, respect for nature reaches its peak; in fact, it is not possible to enter it, so that man does not alter the ecosystem.
