We are in Casentino, where nature and man have lived together in harmony and mutual respect for centuries. The valley is criss-crossed by thousands of “ruscelletti” (little streams), as Dante calls them in his famous poem, as well as by the Arno river, which springs from Mount Falterona.
The Casentino area is known for its wide biodiversity. The crystal-clear, uncontaminated waters of the streams, with their waterfalls, are the perfect place to see a large number of fish species, the undisputed queen of which is the trout. With its authentic, traditional taste, this is a hearty food, that the people of Casentino adore.
SPECIFIC REGULATION AREA CAPODARNO
Within the Municipality of Pratovecchio Stia, a place blessed with a wealth of historical and artistic beauty, it is possible to fish for trout, respecting specific rules that promote and divulge the values of safeguarding the fish heritage of the Arno river and the Staggia stream.
The fishing area covers about 5 km of the Arno river, between Pratovecchio and Stia, and caters for everyone’s needs. While on the first downstream stretch fishing is allowed using all techniques, on the second stretch, it is only possible to fish with artificial bait and compulsory release, the so-called No Kill fishing.
Fishing is not just for grown-ups, even children can be introduced to no-kill fishing.

TROTICOLTURA PUCCINI (PUCCINI TROUT FARM)
Since 1933 the passion of Federico Puccini, owner of the mill of the same name, in Papiano, led him to set up a trout farm in the pure waters of the Staggia stream.
The Puccini trout farm has won many awards over the years and has exported its products all over Italy. Today, the trout reproduced and bred in the hatchery are brown and rainbow, of North American origin, but there are also other salmonoids of high quality and delicacy.
The Papiano trout festival is inspired by the traditions and recipes that families have been handing down for generations.

Troticoltura Puccini
LAKE TRIPOLI
Lake Tripoli is rich in fish fauna (trout, sturgeon, carp, tench, eel, perch, bass, etc.). Set in a pine forest, it has a refreshment area that makes it an ideal place for picnics and relaxing moments for the whole family, thanks also to the presence of a small lake for children.
It is an ideal place for fishing, including No Kill, which can also be done at night during the summer. Trout fishing courses are also organised.
Access is regulated by daily permits.

ZONA DI REGOLAMENTO SPECIFICO CAPODARNO
All’interno del Comune di Pratovecchio Stia, ricco anche di bellezze storico-artistiche, è possibile praticare la pesca alla trota rispettando regole specifiche che promuovano e divulghino i valori della salvaguardia del patrimonio ittico del fiume Arno e del torrente Staggia.
La zona di pesca interessa il fiume Arno per circa 5 km tra Pratovecchio e Stia ed accontenta le esigenze di tutti. Mentre nel primo tratto a valle la pesca è consentita utilizzando tutte le tecniche, nel secondo è possibile pescare con esche artificiali e rilascio obbligatorio, la cosiddetta Pesca No Kill.
La pesca non è solo cosa da grandi, è possibile avvicinare anche i bambini alla pesca no kill.

ACQUACOLTURA MOLIN DI BUCCHIO

TROTICULTURA PUCCINI
Dal 1933 la passione di Federico Puccini, proprietario dell’omonimo mulino di Papiano, lo portò a realizzare un impianto di allevamento nelle acque pure dello Staggia.
La troticoltura Puccini è stata nel tempo pluripremiata ed ha esportato i propri prodotti in tutta Italia. Le trote oggi riprodotte e allevate nell’impianto di incubazione sono di razza fario e iridea, di origine nordamericana, ma vi sono anche altri salmonoidi sempre di alta qualità e prelibatezza.
La festa della trota di Papiano trae quindi spunto dalle tradizioni e dalle ricette che le famiglie si tramandano da generazioni.

Troticoltura Puccini
LAGO DI TRIPOLI
Il Lago di Tripoli è ricco di fauna ittica (trote, storioni, carpe, tinche, anguille, persico reale, spigole etc). Incastonato in una pineta, dispone di un punto ristoro che lo rende luogo ideale per picnic e momenti di relax per tutta la famiglia, grazie anche alla presenza di un laghetto per i più piccoli.
È un luogo ideale per la pesca, anche No Kill, praticabile anche in notturna durante l’estate. Vengono inoltre organizzati corsi di pesca alla trota.
L’accesso è regolato da permessi giornalieri.
