Via Romea Germanica

We follow the Via Maior indicated by the monk Albert, who from Stade (Germany) reached Rome in about 1250. This is one of the oldest routes, used for centuries by pilgrims from northern Europe to reach Rome and named Via Romea De Stade.

The Casentino region is touched in various places by the itinerary that accompanies modern pilgrims through the suggestive beauties of the valley completely surrounded by green forests. From Subbiano until you reach Passo Serra stories and past times of castles and lords will be the setting for your journey.
