Bibbiena is the largest village in Casentino, and the most populous. This area has been inhabited since ancient times, as demonstrated by the numerous Etruscan settlements and Roman villas found not far from the centre of the town. Its foundation dates back to 979 AD

Castel Focognano

Castel Focognano was first recorded in written documents in 989, in a sales contract mentioning, as its boundary, the "public road from Monte Focognano". This toponym does not suggest the existence of the castle or even of a built-up area; it was not until 1022 that the first explicit mention of the castle was found in written sources.

Castel San Niccolò

Castel San Niccolò is the name of the castle that dominates the village in the valley of the Solano stream. It takes its name from the saint after whom its church is named, subsequently extending to the entire municipality. It is said that the hillock on which this castle stands was inhabited by devils who wanted to prevent its construction.

A town of memory and water, Chitignano tells the story of a distant struggle for survival from cigar making to smuggling. The town's Eco-museum is a journey into the community, rediscovering ancient traditions and the desire to look ahead.

Chiusi della Verna rises at the base of the mountain where Saint Francis of Assisi received the stigmata in 1224, as recalled by Dante Alighieri in the 11th Canto of Paradise

Montemignaio is a village to discover, a perfect place to pause and reflect. Immersed in welcoming nature, Montemignaio is one of the last places you come across when leaving the Casentino in the direction of Florence.

Ortignano Raggiolo

Ortignano-Raggiolo is a place where you can take refuge in your soul. Its chestnut woods, villages and landscapes are a world to be discovered, offering glimpses of real life.

The territory of the municipality of Pratovecchio - Stia offers plenty to see, discover and explore.

Subbiano welcomes you to the Casentino valley. It is the first village we meet, between the left bank of the Arno River and the slopes of Catenaia Alp, dividing our territory from Valtiberina.

Talla is the village of music, a place that, according to tradition, is the birthplace of Guido Monaco, the inventor of musical notation.
